As many of you know, over the Christmas holidays, one of our amazing pupils was taken suddenly and very seriously ill with a stroke. Thankfully, she is now making a good recovery. There is a long road ahead of her, but with the support of all of her family and friends, and her own AMAZING strength and sheer willpower, we know that she will get there.
This week, the children have been busy making cards and banners to send. However, they would like to do more than this! All of the children and staff at Woodhall would like to do some fundraising for Great Ormond Street Hospital (and the Koala Ward in particular), where our pupil has been given the very best of care.
Her fabulous big sister has been busy organising, and thought that we could hold a ‘crazy clothes day’, wearing her sister’s favourite colours…pink and purple!
So, next Friday (January 18th), this is exactly what we will do! All of the children (and staff!) can come in their craziest pink and purple outfits. We are asking for a donation of £1 per pupil (although if you wish to donate more, all funds will be gratefully received).
On the same day we are also holding a cake sale, so get baking everyone! Please bring your cake donations to the school office (or to your child’s class) either on Thursday 17th or the morning of Friday 18th.
We are looking forward to giving our friend a huge smile with all of our crazy pink and purple photos!
We hope that you have enjoyed a lovely Christmas break. School starts tomorrow (Tuesday 8th January) with our usual soft start. It has turned colder now; please make sure that children come to school with warm coats on. We are looking forward to the start of the new term!
At Woodhall School we encourage every member of the school to ‘Aim high and Reach for the sky!’. We endeavour to develop skills for life-long learning and provide both creative and meaningful learning opportunities to enable every member of the school community to achieve their potential.
