Thanks to everybody who came along last Saturday to Woodhall’s Christmas Fair. The fair was a huge success and busy from start to finish! We will let you know the total amount that was raised as soon as possible. An especially huge THANK YOU to all of our ‘Friends of Woodhall’ who organised every aspect of the fair (from reindeer to refreshments); to all of the staff who gave up their Saturday to come and help; and to Santa, of course, who found a Woodhall window in his busy schedule! Our hamper raffle has proved extremely popular and we will be drawing winners on the evening of ‘Carols by Candlelight’; don’t worry if you are not there, because names are on tickets and we will save you a hamper should you win. Photos to follow. Please check the diary dates for all upcoming Christmas plays etc., and next term’s dates. Thanks.

Today, children from Reception to Year 6 had great fun watching a fantastic production of ‘The Jungle Book’. We howled with laughter at the monkeys and hid behind our hands whenever Shere Khan appeared! Following the show, Year 6 attended a workshop in which the actors taught them all about stagecraft…lights, sound, costume, characterisation, voices, use of technology and lots more. Year 6 are currently studying the ‘Just So’ stories, so they were able to share their knowledge about Rudyard Kipling. They knew that the inspiration for writing ‘The Jungle Book’ (which was written over 100 years ago!) came from Kipling’s childhood in India. Year 6 are going to use what they found out to stage their own versions of the ‘Just So’ stories during assembly, so we will look forward to watching those!
