Woodhall Primary School Timings

At Woodhall, we have a daily ‘soft start’. This means that children can be dropped at school from 8.30am and come straight into class, where they can take part in a variety of curriculum-based activities. A ‘soft start’ means that there is a more relaxed start to each day (with no lining up in the rain!). Children are welcomed warmly and have time to talk to their friends and school adults before registration at 8.50am.

If your child arrives later than 8.50am, they must report to the school office to be signed in.

Children should be dropped off at either our main entrance on Woodhall Lane or at the gate on Little Oxhey Lane. They must be picked up from the main entrance (parents/carers will be directed around to the classrooms at home time). All children from Nursery-Year 4 must be picked up by an adult. If your child is going to be collected by a different adult, please let the school know in advance. In the interests of safety, we will not let children go home with a different adult (even if this is another Woodhall parent) unless there has been prior notification.

In Years 5 and 6, children may walk to/from school by themselves. To do this, parents/carers must complete a permission slip. Please note that there will be occasions (such as an after-school club) where will still require that an adult collects the child from school.

Each day, children enjoy a morning break (15 minutes) and lunchtime (60 minutes).

School closes at 3.30pm from Monday-Thursday and at 2pm on Fridays.
