Attendance Winners!
Last week’s winning class were Year 1, with a brilliant 97.3% attendance. Well done Year 1! Only a week left for one class to win an extra playtime. Why not add your ideas for an attendance reward to our school blog?

Year 5 and Year 6 have been taking part in a very important workshop today; a nationwide initiative called ‘Show Racism the Red Card’, which uses football as a basis to educate against racism. Have a look at their website, www.srtrc.org, and watch out for photos of the day on our school blog.
I popped into our new Boxing Club this week. There was so much going on! The coach was teaching everybody about using the gloves and pads properly, as you can see in these photographs. If you are a member of Boxing Club, what do you think about it…are you enjoying yourself? What else have you been learning? What are the skills that you need to be a brilliant boxer?
Today (Monday 30th) our local police will be at Woodhall from 3.30pm, where they will be marking property. Bring your phones, tablets, bikes etc!
Congratulations to Year 6, who are this week’s winners with a brilliant 97.5%! Well done to Reception, Year 1 and Year 3 who also achieved greens, which means that their class average was above 95%. This is a very short half-term, so we need to make sure that we are in school everyday in order to achieve our very best learning!
At the end of the term, we will have an attendance party for all the children whose attendance has been at least 98%. Last term, we had an ice-cream factory! What are your ideas for this term’s celebration party? Miss Lake.
We still have a few places left in our Boxing Club, which starts THIS AFTERNOON 3.30-4.30pm. Years 3-6 only. Please phone/drop in to the office if you would like a place for your child.
We are hoping to set up a Taekwon-do Club here at Woodhall. Children from Year 1 to Year 6 will get a chance to find out what Taekwon-do is all about tomorrow, when Master Nick Symonds is coming in to deliver some taster sessions. PE. kits needed to take part!
We have the following clubs on offer for the Spring Term: Y1-3 Street Dance, Football Club for every year group (including Reception), Y5 & Y6 Tag Rugby Club, KS2 Boxing Club, KS2 Badminton Club, Y4-Y6 Netball Club, Y2-Y6 Karate Club. Letters have been sent home for all clubs. If you have any questions, please come in and ask. Soon to come…Taekwon-do Club!
Teachers will talk to you about what the children will be learning this term and how best to support them at home, as well as answering any questions and discussing other events taking place in school. All meetings will take place at 3pm in the relevant classroom – please sign in at the office first. Thanks.
