We have had an AMAZING day today taking part in our sponsored scoot. A huge thank you to all of the family and friends who came in to watch, and all those of you who had a go yourselves! Please help your child to collect their sponsor money and bring it to school over the next few days. We are hoping to raise enough money to buy a set of scooters and get the whole school scooting during lunchtimes and PE sessions. Thanks to James from ScootFit (many of you met him today) whose boundless energy and enthusiasm made today such a success!
Can you spare any time to help with the gardening in our Nursery/Reception outside area? Just an hour a week of basic gardening would be really helpful. If you can spare some time to help, please let Ms.Leo, Mrs Roby or Sue/Nikki in the school office know. Thanks!
Please check our ‘Diary Dates’ page for this term’s class assembly dates/times. Year 1 and Year 2 will not hold a class assembly this term as they will be busy rehearsing for their Christmas production!
We celebrated ‘Roald Dahl Day’ in style, with a special assembly (Mr.Hancock read us a Revolting Rhyme!), classroom activities and a special raffle. Well done to everyone who dressed up for the day. At Woodhall, we had 21 children dressed as ‘Mr/Mrs Fox’, 26 as ‘Matilda’, 18 as ‘Charlie’ or ‘George’, 15 as ‘Willy Wonka’, 7 as the ‘BFG’ or ‘Sophie’ and we even had a bottle of ‘Marvellous Medicine’, a ‘Golden Ticket’ and a ‘Giant Peach’ amongst many others! Congratulations to Charlie and Brooke, who each won a set of Roald Dahl books.
Last term, we all enjoyed our ScootFit session at Woodhall…so much so that we want to raise money for our own set of scooters! ScootFit is a sporting activity using push scooters to improve health and fitness. Scooting helps develop and improve agility, balance, co-ordination, muscle strength and endurance. What a fantastic way to get children active! Please see the letters and sponsorship forms that will be sent home this week. We can’t wait to get scooting! Have a look for yourself…
We will be celebrating national Roald Dahl day on THURSDAY 13th SEPTEMBER (Roald Dahl’s birthday) with a day of activities and a dress-up.
Come to school dressed as your favourite Roald Dahl character, and enter our amazing raffle (£1 per ticket) to win a brand new set of Roald Dahl books!
Curriculum meetings will be held at 9am and 3.15pm on Monday 10th September. Meet your child’s class teacher; find out what the children will be learning this term and how you can support learning at home. There will also be a chance to ask any questions. We hope to see you there!
School will be closed today due to the bad weather conditions.
We will send further information via the school texting service. Thanks.
