We celebrated ‘Roald Dahl Day’ in style, with a special assembly (Mr.Hancock read us a Revolting Rhyme!), classroom activities and a special raffle. Well done to everyone who dressed up for the day. At Woodhall, we had 21 children dressed as ‘Mr/Mrs Fox’, 26 as ‘Matilda’, 18 as ‘Charlie’ or ‘George’, 15 as ‘Willy Wonka’, 7 as the ‘BFG’ or ‘Sophie’ and we even had a bottle of ‘Marvellous Medicine’, a ‘Golden Ticket’ and a ‘Giant Peach’ amongst many others! Congratulations to Charlie and Brooke, who each won a set of Roald Dahl books.
Last term, we all enjoyed our ScootFit session at Woodhall…so much so that we want to raise money for our own set of scooters! ScootFit is a sporting activity using push scooters to improve health and fitness. Scooting helps develop and improve agility, balance, co-ordination, muscle strength and endurance. What a fantastic way to get children active! Please see the letters and sponsorship forms that will be sent home this week. We can’t wait to get scooting! Have a look for yourself…
We will be celebrating national Roald Dahl day on THURSDAY 13th SEPTEMBER (Roald Dahl’s birthday) with a day of activities and a dress-up.
Come to school dressed as your favourite Roald Dahl character, and enter our amazing raffle (£1 per ticket) to win a brand new set of Roald Dahl books!
Curriculum meetings will be held at 9am and 3.15pm on Monday 10th September. Meet your child’s class teacher; find out what the children will be learning this term and how you can support learning at home. There will also be a chance to ask any questions. We hope to see you there!
School will be closed today due to the bad weather conditions.
We will send further information via the school texting service. Thanks.
Welcome back to school. Breakfast Club and soft start as usual, but Film Club will not begin until next week. Look out for next week’s newsletter!
School will be open today for our soft start from 8.30am. Breakfast Club will run as usual. Performances today: EYFS play 9.15am, KS2 Carols at 2pm and 6pm. All children need to come into school via the main entrance again today as the playgrounds are still very icy. Thanks everyone.
Woodhall will be open today but with a 10am start so that everyone can travel in safely. All children need to come in through our main gates today. Please be very careful on the slippery pavements. The EYFS Christmas play will start at 10.30am. This afternoon’s performance of ‘Prickly Hay’, the Year 1 and Year 2 play, will go ahead. We will make a decision about the 6pm performance by lunchtime and let you know. Thanks for your patience.
