PSHE at Woodhall

At Woodhall, we are committed to providing a nurturing space where children can develop personally and socially as well as academically. Our PSHE curriculum enables all children to have access to age-appropriate knowledge so they can make decisions on a range of issues that they may have to deal with both now and in the future.

The children learn about wellbeing, how to be good citizens of the world and about British Values in many ways. Through our PSHE curriculum, they will have the knowledge, skills and attributes that they need to keep themselves healthy- both physically and mentally- and safe and to prepare them for life and work in modern Britain.

To learn more about PSHE at Woodhall, read our PSHE Statement and PSHE Subject Ladder.

PSHE Ladder PSHE Ladder
PSHE Statement PSHE Statement

Our Whole School Approach to PSHE starts with our core school values of Aspiration, Resilience, Inclusivity, Responsibility, Passion and Family. Children learn the merits of each value and learn how to recognise and build them in themselves and others. We celebrate and reward these qualities as highly as academic achievements so children understand that personal and social development is a valuable part of learning. Each term, we take a different value and that is explored through assemblies and in lessons. Teachers award a Woodhall WOW Award each week in celebration assembly; it goes to a child who has embodied the chosen value throughout the week. This constant reminder helps our children develop a sense of self-reflection and pride in their achievements.
