Art at Woodhall
‘Creativity is intelligence having fun.’ (Albert Einstein)
Art is so much more than painting pictures- it’s a powerful way for children to explore their identity, express emotions, build confidence, and make sense of the world around them. At Woodhall, we believe that every child is an artist in their own right. Through art, children learn to think creatively, take risks, and solve problems in imaginative ways- skills that are essential not only for future artists and designers, but for learners in every area of life.
For many children, art lessons are where they truly find their voice. By experimenting with different materials, styles and techniques, they begin to see themselves not just as learners, but as creators. Whether it’s illustrating a story, creating a model of a historic building, or exploring pattern through maths, Art helps bring other subjects to life and deepens understanding in a hands-on, meaningful way. At Woodhall, we celebrate art as both a subject in its own right and as a creative thread running through everything we do. To learn more about the intent, implementation and impact of our Art Curriculum and see how learning progresses throughout the key stages, check out our Art Statement and Subject Ladder below.
